Chef on the Rocks Recipe: Super Bowl Beer Dip
With Super Bowl LII only 10 days away, you might be thinking about that perfect dip to make for your party. This Super Bowl Beer Dip just might be it. It’s very inexpensive to make, takes little to no time, and is absolutely delicious. ***NOTE*** – This recipe is simply for one batch, which is good for approximately 4-6 people. Simply double the ingredients if you plan on having more people.
What you’ll need for this Super Bowl Beer Dip:
- (3) 8 oz. containers of either Old English Cheese spread, or cheddar cheese spread. Either or, depending on your taste buds.
- 12 oz. of cream cheese. Do not use the whipped cream cheese spread. Use actual blocks of cream cheese.
- 6 oz of beer. I prefer to use just good ole fashioned regular Budweiser. For a richer taste, try using Yuengling Lager.
- Black Pepper
- Dried Oregano & Dried Parsley
- Garlic Powder
- Fresh Parsley (optional)
- (2) loafs of unseeded, plain rye bread
The first step is the get both your cheddar (or Old English) cheese spreads, and your cream cheese at room temperature so it’s soft and mixes well. Once all of your cheese is not only room temperature, but nice and soft, put all three containers of your cheese spread, and the 12 oz. of cream cheese into a large mixing bowl. Using a mixer on the lowest setting, beat and mix the cheese until it starts to come together. Then, pour in 3oz of the beer into the mixing bowl and continue to mix the contents at medium speed.
Once everything in the bowl seems well-mixed, add a teaspoon of garlic powder, a cupped palm’s worth of the dried parsley and dried oregano. At this point you can pour in the remaining 3 oz. of beer. Turn the mixer on medium-high and mix until you get a nice creamy, well mixed texture. It should look similar to this:
At this point, your dip is complete unless you’ve chosen the option of fresh parsley, which we’ll get to in a minute. As long as it’s stored correctly, this will stay good in your refrigerator for up to a week. If you’re choosing to serve right away, you can serve in your favorite dish, along with the rye bread cut to how you like it. Dip, and enjoy. If you chose to add the fresh parsley, you can chop of a handful and garnish the dip.
